New Delhi, 22 July 2026: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has temporarily closed 16 Metro stations across central Delhi due to security concerns linked to the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party protest at Jantar Mantar.
According to the latest DMRC service advisory, the affected stations will remain closed until further instructions. Metro trains will continue operating on the respective lines but will not stop for passenger entry or exit at the closed stations.

The stations currently affected are:

The closures mainly affect stations situated in and around central Delhi, including areas close to Jantar Mantar, Connaught Place, Parliament Street and major government buildings.
Interchange Facilities Still Available
DMRC has clarified that interchange services will remain available at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat.
Passengers may change Metro lines at these stations, but entry and exit facilities could remain restricted. Commuters should therefore avoid using these stations as their starting point or final destination until the restrictions are withdrawn.
Commuters Report Delays and Confusion
The sudden closure of several major stations has caused disruption for office-goers and other passengers travelling through central Delhi.
At Mandi House, some commuters reportedly had to wait inside the station while security personnel restricted exits. Passengers sought clarity from Metro officials about alternative routes and the duration of the closure.
People travelling to Connaught Place, ITO, Janpath, Khan Market, Delhi Gate and surrounding areas have been advised to consider nearby operational Metro stations, buses, taxis or other transport options.
Why Have the Stations Been Closed?
The restrictions were introduced as security was tightened around Jantar Mantar and other sensitive parts of New Delhi amid the continuing CJP agitation.
The protest is connected to allegations concerning the NEET examination paper leak, police action during the earlier “Sansad Chalo” march and demands for accountability from the Union Government. Protest organisers have said the demonstration will continue, while police have increased deployment in central Delhi.
Additional police and paramilitary personnel have been positioned near major intersections, government buildings and vulnerable locations. Vehicle checks and security screening have also been intensified in parts of Lutyens’ Delhi.
