On the orders of the court, a woman resident of a locality in the Kotwali Hathras Gate area filed a complaint against a person from the neighborhood and his brother and father in the police station Hathras Gate for demanding Rs 500 every month for drinking alcohol and for keeping an evil eye on her daughter-in-law and protesting. A report has been filed accusing him of breaking in and beating.
The woman has said that she has a son and daughter-in-law. The son is very simple and works as a laborer to support the family. A person living in the neighborhood is a drunkard, a coward and a domineering person. Taking advantage of their poverty and weakness, he keeps an evil eye on their daughter-in-law and abuses them after drinking alcohol every day. He keeps insulting her by using caste related words and says that if you don’t give me Rs 500 per month for liquor, I will kill your only son and have fun with his wife. Threatens that he will send your son to jail by filing a false rape case against his wife.
On the night of 25 January, she was sleeping at home with her family. Then the accused entered the house by jumping over the wall and tried to strangulate her with the intention of killing her. Hearing the screams, the son and daughter-in-law tried to catch the accused, but he pushed him away and ran away. People of the locality informed the police. The police arrested the accused. After being released, the accused along with his father and brother came and beat the victim and her son and daughter-in-law.
