Coronavirus Update: The cases of sub-variant JN.1 of Covid-19 in the country have increased to more than 1000. INSACOG has given this information. Uttar Pradesh has also now joined those states where cases of new sub-variant JN.1 have been reported. According to the Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG), the highest number of 214 cases of JN.1 have been reported in Karnataka.

Where and how many patients of JN.1?

189 in Andhra Pradesh, 170 in Maharashtra, 154 in Kerala, 90 in Goa, 88 in Tamil Nadu, 76 in Gujarat, 32 in Telangana and Rajasthan, 25 in Chhattisgarh, 16 in Delhi, seven in Uttar Pradesh, five in Haryana, three in Odisha. , Two cases have been registered in West Bengal and one in Uttarakhand.

So far, a total of 1104 cases of Covid-19 sub-variant JN.1 have been reported in 16 states and union territories. The central government has instructed the state governments to continuously keep an eye on the increase in new cases of Covid and the JN.1 variant.

Instructions given by all states

The Union Health Ministry has appealed to the states to follow the revised guidelines of Covid-19. Besides, all the states have been asked to monitor Covid at the district level as well as prepare reports on influenza and respiratory diseases. The World Health Organization (WHO) has classified JN.1 as a ‘variant of interest’, adding that it does not pose much risk but caution is needed.

According to the Health Ministry, there were three deaths in the country, of which two were recorded in Kerala and one in Karnataka. in India on Friday (January 12) corona virus 609 new cases of infection were registered. 92 percent of the patients undergoing treatment for Covid-19 are undergoing treatment in isolation at home.
